The Lachlan Macquarie Institute, in conjunction with the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture, and St. Mark’s National Theological College are hosting Australia’s first Public Theology Debating Tournament.
The purpose of this event is to provide an opportunity for greater public engagement from Theological Colleges, as well as providing a platform for broader discussion around theologically relevant areas of public, political and cultural engagement.
What does it mean to be a Christian in the public sphere? How can we participate in conversations about the values undergirding our political system? What does faith contribute to developing policies that promotes human flourishing?
The next public theology debate tournament will be held in 2018.
